LifeLine's CARE (Chattanooga Area  Resource & Education) Project is a Community Parent Resource Center funded through the IDEA by the U.S. Dept of Education, Office of Special Education Programs. CARE targets a six county region in Southeast Tennessee and North Georgia. The project provides education, support, and outreach to parents of children with disabilities. CARE empowers parents to become active and full partners in their child’s educational programming. Though CARE workshops were created specifically for caregivers and families and are offered free of charge, professionals and educators are invited and encouraged to attend. A nominal fee is charged to cover material costs. In addition to workshops on the IDEA, topics also include disability specific and related issues.
